Querétaro Delegates Visit St. Philip's College
February 26, 2025
On Feb. 11, St. Philip’s College welcomed a delegation and students from Querétaro, Mexico, for a campus tour as part of a broader effort to strengthen ties between San Antonio and its sister city.
The visit marked a milestone in commemorating the Sister City Friendship Agreement between the Alamo Colleges District and six higher education institutions in Querétaro, known as the Querétaro University Consortium.
The day’s itinerary was filled with activities. After a welcome from St. Philip’s College President Dr. Adena Williams Loston, the Querétaro delegates toured the Cybersecurity Innovations Center and the Saint Artemisia Bowden Building. Dr. Loston was joined by Edith Orozco, Dean for Academic Success in Applied Science and Technology at the MLK campus, and Dr. Raymond Chacon, Chair of the Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cybersecurity program. The tour included visits to computer labs, a cyber range, and an art gallery.
Following the tour, Dr Loston and the Querétaro delegates participated in a gift exchange. Rooted in educational and cultural diplomacy, the visit reinforced the bond between San Antonio and Querétaro, fostering collaboration that will benefit both students and educators.
